  1. Why should I learn something that industry will train me in?  What is the value add of APEx?

    1. Sequential Approach:

      1. The gain in knowledge at the college level is critical and analytical thinking and techniques are supplemented by a sequential approach to problem solving making the APEx approach unique and effective.  In every culture, country and continent it has been proved that the application methodology of the already existing tools is what makes this approach unique.  Being operational on day one is going to give you a significant edge over the other candidates both entry levels as well as colleagues at the work place.

    2. Isolated versus Integrated:

      1. With the critical thinking, knowledge of tools and techniques, the approach to problem solving becomes an integrated effort and something that only professionals in the “Business of Quality” would care about.  However, with the APEx approach the strategy to improve the “Quality of the Business” has come into the limelight.  This approach integrates the impact within and between different components of an organization and de-compartmentalizes the effectiveness and efficiency of an organization.

    3. Cashing or Casting:

      1. By using the conventional methodology of problem solving, we are merely casting a shadow by focusing on tools and techniques.  With the APEx approach there is a focus on cashing in on EBIT (Earnings before Interest and Taxes) for the organization be it increasing sales, or reducing inventory or eliminating variation in these areas.

    4. Island or Land:

      1. In the traditional world the approach was to use these tools and problem solving techniques to improve different islands of functions in an organization, however in an integrated APEx approach the land is improved for total prosperity.

  2. How will APEx help me increase my performance against my employer’s expectations?

    1. Opportunity versus Threat:

      1. It can become a threat unless you design the approach where you are engaged instead of engaging as a leader.  Avoid isolating your efforts with that of the outsider to ensure everyone is on the same side of the fence.  No winks, no blinks or side jokes, but plain data focused.

      2. Once you demonstrate improvement the management will respond positively to help you make it stronger and sustainable.

  1. I know what I have been doing all along for a long time.  So why do I need a new methodology?

    1. Outside The Box Thinking:

      1. The new solutions to old problems are more important to your customer who never cares who gets it done so long as it is done.

      2. When someone new comes into the picture they have a set of different eyes using this methodology and are thinking outside the box and on most occasions by which the solutions are derived from a “shock and awe” type of thinking.

  2. Our customer is satisfied beyond 95 % and jobs are plenty with company profits and sales increasing.  Why do I need this?

    1. Average versus Variation:

      1. Customer “satisfaction and delight” metrics is about dealing with averages and when we look at the variation our customers are not very happy at all.  APEx is about including all customers and not all customers are the same nor do all of them bear the same impact on our profitability.  Thus we need to prioritize and proactively obsess ourselves with a customer delight approach with our key contributing customers.  This doesn’t mean we ignore the rest but also address them appropriately.

      2. One can have a 98 % customer satisfaction rating and have no impact on customers’ preference to do business with us on a local level let alone global being one of our choices.

  3. How will I convince my management to approve of this new approach let alone the investment?

    1. Push versus Pull:

      1. The best usually is to work with us and together we will assist you in approaching your management for a higher chance of approval.

      2. Focusing on work deliverables are bound to improve at breakthrough levels and beyond incremental benefits.  So at first, one pilots off an initiative with the least risk to the organization.  Based on the success of the piloted effort, the management will tend to increase their belief at the cultural level beyond which a larger effort gets a much higher attention and enrollment.

      3. One should not try to convince (push) the management by speech but mere actions supported by data (pull) based benefits to the organization.

  4. How will I be able to manage APEx as well as my academic commitments?

    1. Academic versus Professional Versus Life-skills:

      1. APEx should first help you manage your grades and avoid or eliminate any arrears, backlogs in your academic commitments.  Second it is used to help you increase consistency between your courses/subjects and then move to a higher performance.  At this point your academic performance will reach a level of sustenance and then you can start thinking of your career and professional success.  This is where APEx can help you gain skills to prepare you for the professional world beyond your college curriculum.

      2. I some situations, both academic and professional areas are achieved. However, a balance of life skills is a gap for some of you.  You will also gain an opportunity to learn some unique life skills to help you be able to deal with conflict resolution, team skills, influencing peers with intelligent information and leadership skills.

  5. How do I know that this course is of significant additional value in the industry?

    1. Using information to conclude:

      1. Documents and testimonials will be provided to your institution on what the value such course can bring for their students.

      2. References of such professionals having experience in this area will be provided and you are welcome to contact or connect with.

      3. Your course, project, academic and professional performance at your work will all be tracked via a unique APEx_Tracking process.  This will be done online and constant feedback will be provided on what the industry is expecting and how APEx students fare compared to the others.

      4. The number of offers, time of offer, and nature of offer along with feedback from your employer will be assessed to provide direct feedback and value as well as a network forum for you to engage and find avenues for best practices sharing toward your career security management.
